FR:Born in St-Jérôme, Quebec in 1971, Caroline Guernon has been passionate about the arts for 35 years. At the age of 12, she began taking private oil painting lessons. During this time, Mr. Ilio Piccioli, a painter and high school art teacher, became her mentor. She later studied applied arts at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and continued her studies at UQAM, successfully obtaining a Bachelor of Education in the Arts.
Encouraged by her teachers, she developed a dynamic gestural technique using a palette knife. After 17 years of teaching art at the secondary level, she decided to dedicate herself to her art. She has been represented by art galleries in Canada and the United States. Winner of several awards, including the Diane Townsend Pastel Award from The Factory Gallery, New York, and the Creativity Award from Galerie Z, Montreal, she is also featured in several art books, such as *International Contemporary Artist*.
