Photo de l'artiste

FR:Joanie Thomassin has always been passionate about art: from childhood, she experimented with drawing, painting, and crafts. At 10, she began working with acrylics, and her artistic path gradually took shape. After completing a painting program, earning a pre-university diploma in art, and specializing in painting, Joanie realized that art held a central place in her life. She initially worked as a sales representative in her aunt's gallery, an experience that helped her delve deeper into the art world. Over the years, Joanie explored various techniques, from portraits to birds, before focusing on landscapes, a passion born from her hiking. She draws inspiration from the Northern Lights, sunsets, and mist, seeking to capture the magic of these unique moments. She loves it when viewers can find themselves in her work, discovering a familiar place or recalling a special moment. Her landscapes, created with acrylics and textures reminiscent of stone or crushed glass, offer a complete immersion in an atmosphere of calm and well-being. Exhibiting primarily in Quebec, Joanie also paints in her aunt's gallery and in her home studio. She enjoys sharing her art and explaining her techniques to the public, while preserving the serenity and harmony she seeks to convey through her landscapes.
