Photo de l'artiste

Jean-Jacques Hudon, originally from La Pocatière, Quebec, completed his studies at Université Laval, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and a certificate in college-level teaching. After an internship in France and several workshops, he dedicated thirty years to teaching visual arts to diverse audiences. Currently, he works in his studio and offers acrylic painting workshops on canvas and plexiglass.

His pictorial research particularly focuses on female representation. He develops the cloisonné technique on his canvas works and offers an increasingly free brushwork, which enriches his figurative pieces. Jean-Jacques Hudon also explores graphic design, collage, and various other mediums to accentuate certain forms, thus adding character and movement to his subjects. He works with oil and acrylic on various supports such as canvas, wood, plexiglass, and metal.

Jean-Jacques Hudon is a signatory member of L’Institut des Arts Figuratifs and exhibits his works in numerous collective and solo events, reaching audiences in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. In 2014, he received first prize from the Association artistique et culturelle de Québec and was selected by a jury for the "Frida Kahlo" collective at Arts Vallarta gallery, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In 2017, he won the gold medal in figurative art from the "Césure" gallery, followed by the silver medal in figurative art from the same gallery in 2018.
