Photo de l'artiste

Joanie Thomassin has always been passionate about art: from childhood, she experimented with drawing, painting, and crafting. At 10, she was introduced to acrylic painting, and her artistic path gradually took shape. After a school program in painting, a pre-university diploma in art, and a specialization in painting, Joanie realized that art held a central place in her life. She first worked as a representative in her aunt’s gallery, an experience that helped her immerse herself further in the artistic world. Over the years, Joanie explored various techniques, ranging from portraits to birds, before focusing on landscapes, a passion born from her hikes. She draws inspiration from the northern lights, sunsets, and mist, seeking to capture the imagination of these unique moments. She likes viewers to find themselves in her works, discover a place familiar to them, or recall a particular moment. Her landscapes, created in acrylic with reliefs and textures like stone or crushed glass, offer total immersion in atmospheres of calm and well-being. Primarily exhibiting in Quebec, Joanie also paints in her aunt's gallery and in her home studio. She loves to share her art and explain her techniques to the public, while preserving the serenity and harmony she seeks to convey through her landscapes.
